Acuaiss Dual Gel is a tear with a gel-like texture providing intense long-lasting eye hydration. It contains two humectant agents at high concentrations for a dual effect: hyaluronic acid at 0.30% and hydroxyethyl cellulose at 0.10%.
● Hyaluronic acid is a substance found naturally in the eye that is capable of retaining up to 6000 times its weight in water. This equips it with extraordinary moisturizing properties. The high concentration of hyaluronic acid in Acuaiss Dual Gel means it forms an intensely moisturizing, soothing and long-lasting film.
● Hydroxyethyl cellulose is a plant-based thickening agent with powerful properties to boost viscosity and bio-adhesion. Its role in this formula helps to enhance the viscosity of the drops and ensure they stay in the eye for longer.
There is a very special synergy between hyaluronic acid and hydroxyethyl cellulose. Hydroxyethyl cellulose creates a protective barrier over the surface of the eye, while hyaluronic acid boosts its humectant action and makes the formula more stable.
Acuaiss Dual Gel offers the following advantages:
People with moderately to severely dry eyes
These ophthalmic drops quickly and durably relieve acute or persistent symptoms of moderately to severely dry eyes, which includes stinging, dryness, tiredness, soreness, foreign body sensation or excessively tearful eyes.
Such uncomfortable symptoms can be due to a variety of factors including extended use of mobile phones, PCs or tablets, very dry environments, prolonged exposure to wind and pollution, or certain hormonal imbalances such as menopause. It is also advisable to use these drops to ease the symptoms caused by certain drugs which cause dry eyes as a side effect.
Contact lens users
Acuaiss Dual Gel makes contact lenses more comfortable to wear and easier to handle. It can also be used whilst wearing contacts.
People who suffer lagophthalmos
This happens when people are unable to shut their eyes fully while sleeping. In this case, it is particularly recommendable to apply the drops at night before going to bed and first thing in the morning.
People who wear Ortho-K lenses whilst sleeping to reduce myopia
Ortho-K lens users are advised to apply a few drops (in the preservative-free single-dose format) to their contact lenses immediately before insertion to keep the eye hydrated all night. It is also a good idea to use these drops to remove contacts in the morning.
People whose eyes require hydration following eye surgery
After undergoing surgery, it is best to use the preservative-free single-dose format.
Contact lens wearers can apply the drops whilst wearing them for significant added comfort, or apply one or two drops to the eye before inserting and removing contact lenses for easier handling.
